Camping Retreat/Getaway 2025

The Best Day Ever Foundation is proud to host our 4th Annual

Camping Retreat/Getaway

Dates: Friday, August 1st – Sunday, August 3rd , 2025 (2-night stay)

Location: Kings Island Camp Cedar in Mason, OH

The Best Day Ever Foundation is hosting our 4th Annual Camping Retreat/Getaway for our bereaved families. We have reserved a block of cottages/cabins at Camp Cedar for a 2-night stay, August 1st – 3rd 2025.

Join us to enjoy firepit gatherings, family-style meals, ice cream socials and other opportunities to get to know each other’s families during our time at Camp Cedar.  We are not a grief counseling organization; our primary mission is to bring families together who understand one another’s loss of a child. We take comfort in being with others who know your pain and to share some “best day ever” moments of joy with new friends. We believe no one should travel this journey alone and we hope you will embrace this opportunity to talk with other families organically. We do not discourage emotional conversation.

The families who have attended this retreat in past years appreciate and embrace the safe place to speak about the loss of their child without feeling pitied, judged or worried about others being too fragile to hear the name of their loved one spoken aloud. We are a gift to one another’s journeys.

Camping accommodations at Camp Cedar along with Kings Island admission costs are provided by the Best Day Ever Foundation. Guests are responsible for some meals and beverages (waters and other non-alcoholic drinks provided throughout the weekend), extras at the campground (golf carts or extra firewood) and souvenirs & snacks at the amusement park.

NEW POLICY IN 2025 – SECURITY DEPOSITS REQUIRED: $100 to hold your cabin/spot for the weekend retreat. Security deposits will be returned at check in.
